As part of the A-Clase project (Adult Classic Literature and Arts Synergy for Equality), co-funded by the European Erasmus+ program, we successfully completed ICT training for volunteers from Slovenia. At RIC Novo mesto, 10 retired volunteers were trained in the basics of using information and communication technologies and the basics of dialogic meetings methodology.
As part of the training, we also conducted the first demo dialogic meeting, where volunteers had the opportunity to see a live demonstration of the dialogic meetings from the participants and observe the mentor’s behavior. The volunteers have not yet had the chance to perform this methodology themselves; they will be able to test it in September, before the trip to Turkey. For this dialogic meeting, we used materials from the excerpt “The Witch Agata” from Ivan Tavčar’s Visoška Kronika and Salvador Dalí’s painting “The Persistence of Memory.”
With this important step, we have shown that our volunteers are well-prepared for the further activities of the project, which will include independently leading dialogic meetings. The next step is in-depth training, planned for October 2024 in Turkey.
Project activities also include dissemination activities. We created a project subpage on the institution’s website, and we informed the public about the project’s progress through e-newsletters.
We are proud of our achievements so far and look forward to further successes and cooperation with partners from Turkey.
